![]() I fell in love with the Maine Coon in 1994. I saw an ad in the newspaper for Maine Coon kittens for sale and it piqued my curiosity so I went to see them. I fell in love with the breeder's cats and her kittens. That was the year I bought my first brown tabby male and he was the biggest "goof" I had ever met! He could always make me laugh at one of his antics and that was very heartwarming to me on some of my "not so good" days. After some research into the breed, I decided these would be worthwhile felines to breed. I wanted to produce some big, beautiful, healthy kittens for other people to enjoy and so began my journey into discovering what cat breeding was all about. I went back to the same breeder the following year to purchase a female to go with this big, lovable boy. She had a litter of four kittens and to my dismay, and delight, I fell in love with a cameo tabby male. He was the prettiest kitten I had ever seen and soon became the love of my life. I named him "Cameo" since it seemed to fit him and it also became the name for my cattery. So my breeding program started, unexpectedly, with two males! I finally did purchase my first female a year later and produced my first litter of kittens in 1997. I have been producing litters of healthy, good natured kittens ever since and have found the time and energy that I have poured into this endeavor to be well worth it. I have come to
love and admire this wonderful breed of cat as I have come to know them
over the years. They are the most even tempered, lovable, "dog like"
cats I have ever had the joy of knowing. Promoting these felines
has become an important part of my life and I hope they become an important
part of yours too!
We only purchase breeders from catteries that have tested for all infectious diseases. When a new breeder is purchased, it is quarantined until it is vet checked and found to be healthy. All cats and kittens are tested for FIV, FeLV, internal and external parasites, and ringworm before they are integrated into our resident cats. Our cats are vaccinated every year against Feline Rhinotracheitis Virus, Calici Virus, Chlamydia, Pneumonitis, Leukemia Virus and Rabies. Kittens are kept separate from the adults (except mom) until they have been placed into their new homes. We allow our kittens to go to their new homes when they are 12-16 weeks of age, have had their vaccinations and are vet checked. We are a closed
cattery meaning we do not provide stud service to outside catteries which
lessens our chances of bringing in diseases. We also do not allow
people to come into contact with our breeders. This helps us protect
the health of our cats and kittens. Of course, people are more than welcome
to spend as much time as they want choosing their kittens since they are
kept in separate quarters. We try very hard to "match" our kitten's
temperaments as well as possible to their new families.
Our cats/kittens are guaranteed to be FeLV and FIV negative. We also guarantee that our cats/kittens are free of internal parasites (Roundworm, Hookworm and Tapeworm), external parasites (fleas) and fungi (Ringworm) at the time of sale. If a certified veterinarian diagnoses any of these conditions within the first ten days after purchase, and they are traceable to the cattery, we will pay the medical expenses which were required to diagnose the condition and any medication required to treat the condition. If any genetic
defects are found within the first year after purchase which may substantially
shorten the life of any cat/kitten we sell, a replacement cat/kitten of
equal quality will be offered depending on the results of the diagnosis
or necropsy report by a certified veterinarian. No refund will be
given.
If, at any time,
we should have a kitten buyer who is not happy with one of our kittens
due to it not acclimating well into their family, and they have made a
worthwhile effort on their part by following our instructions on
the acclimation process, we will be more than happy to take the kitten
back within two weeks of purchase. If the new owners cannot keep
the kitten for any reason past the two week time limit, and we feel
it would cause too much stress among our own cats to warrant bringing the
kitten back into our cattery, we will help find a suitable replacement
home for the kitten.
PET QUALITY: $450 & Up - A "pet quality" kitten is not necessarily inferior to any of our other kittens. It only means that the kitten is being sold as a pet and with an agreement that it will be altered at approximately 6 months of age and cannot be used for breeding. We sometimes sell breeder quality and show quality kittens as pets if demand for breeder/show quality kittens is low. BREEDER QUALITY: $1200 & Up - These kittens can be used as breeders but not for showing. They may have a minor "fault" that would keep them from being competitive in the show ring but they have the qualities to produce very nicely typed kittens. SHOW QUALITY: $1500 & Up - These kittens can be bred and/or shown. We choose our best typed kittens as we want them to be competitive in the show ring. We can only use our best judgment in choosing these kittens and can't guarantee the quality at maturity since these kittens change so drastically during development. We will happily replace any kitten that we sell as a show quality kitten if they do not live up to our or our kitten buyer's expectations. POLYDACTYLS: We occasionally have kittens with extra toes (polydactyls). These kittens are now selling for the same price as our non-poly kittens. DEPOSITS: We accept $250 deposits on pet kittens and $600 deposits on breeder and/or show kittens which will hold them until they are mature enough to leave their siblings and mother. We have a Deposit Agreement form that must be filled out to accompany the actual deposit. * We only accept
cash, money orders or cashier's checks for deposits and/or payment of kittens.
We also have a Paypal account so kitten buyers can use debit or credit
cards. There is a link to Paypal at the bottom of both of our Available
Kitten pages.
We
